Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-29

Reviewww is a Chrome extension for leaving review comments on web pages and exporting them as text. This policy explains what the extension stores and what it does not do.

What the extension stores

All data is saved with chrome.storage.local, which lives inside your Chrome profile on your computer:

• Reviews: the name you give them, the site origin (for example https://example.com), and the participant names you type.
• Comments: the text you write, replies, status, the page URL and path, the viewport size, a CSS selector and a short text excerpt of the element you clicked.
• Screenshots: one JPEG image of the visible part of the page, taken at the moment you post a comment, so you can recognize the element later.
• Preferences: toolbar position, collapsed state, whether pins are visible, the current mode and the active participant.

What the extension does not do

• It does not send any of this data to us or to any third party.
• It does not use analytics, tracking, advertising or fingerprinting.
• It does not read or store page content on its own. A comment, its element excerpt and its screenshot are only saved when you post a comment.
• It does not load or execute remote code.

Permissions and why they are needed

• Access to all sites (<all_urls>): you decide which site to review, including localhost, so the extension must be able to show its toolbar and pins on any page. It only becomes active on the site of the review you started. This access is also what lets it read the address of the current tab when you start a review and open the right page when you use “Continue reviewww” or “View on page”. It does not request the broader tabs permission and never reads your browsing history.
• storage and unlimitedStorage: to save reviews, comments and screenshots locally.
• scripting: to show the toolbar on a tab that was already open before the extension was installed or updated.
• Screenshot capture: used only at the moment you post a comment or re-pin one.

Sharing

Data leaves your browser only when you do it yourself, in one of these ways:

• Copying a comment or a prompt to the clipboard.
• Downloading the exported .txt prompt.
• Downloading a review file to share with a teammate. This file contains that review's comments, replies, participant names and, unless you turn them off before downloading, the screenshots.

In every case the file is saved to your own computer. Sending it to anyone is a separate step you take yourself, through whatever channel you choose. Reviewww has no part in delivering it and never uploads it anywhere.

Importing a shared review

You can open a review file that someone shared with you. Its comments, replies and screenshots are then stored locally in your browser, exactly like the ones you write yourself, and the original file stays where it was. It is read on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.

Retention and deletion

Data stays until you delete it. You can delete a single comment, delete a whole review from the extension, or remove the extension from Chrome, which erases all of its stored data.

Children

Reviewww is a professional tool and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this same address with a new date.
